How to dress for work.

Are you having a daily dilemma with your work wear?

If you’re having a regular daily dilemma with your clothes for work – no need to worry, we’ve pulled together a list of do’s & don’ts:

Start with the basics.

Keep it plain with black basics such as your tops, blazer or trousers. Use a colourful shirt, cardigan, scarf, belt or shoes to change it up.

Know your budget and stick to it.

Having an appropriate selection or work wear doesn’t have to cost you a fortune. Look in supermarket stores such as Tesco, Asda & Marks & Spencer’s – they have a great range of work wear clothes at a budget price.

For the height conscious: in the case of high heels

Only wear heels if your workplace doesn’t do anything active. If you’re not expected to be running up and down staircases all day or teaching a gym class, feel free to wear them. But if you are, be prepared for some aches & pains at the end of the day.

Have a smart outfit for important occasions

Always wear a smart outfit for those important meetings or future interviews. Keep that outfit in good condition so you always look your best when you need to.

Don’t take advantage of “Dress down Day”.

Even if Fridays are “Dress down Days,” taking advantage only makes you look sloppy and tacky. If you must, dress down by toning down the makeup and give your eyes a rest by wearing glasses instead of contacts, but don’t go overboard by wearing your oldest pair of jeans & creased t-shirt.

If in doubt, dress for the job you want – not the job you have.

If you enjoyed then why not?
